The marital sex and intimate life is actually much more important.
Not minimizing the hurt caused by porn. but couples have to understand that porn is only one of many behaviors that are the root problem. The wife may possibly be just as guilty as the husband on the most important point in marriage - giving love and value to your spouse. That is where the rubber meets the road.
I always focus on the critical and fundamental issue of self-esteem, for the man and how this feeds into his desire for porn, and to help him understand the deep fears of the woman in regards to her self-worth.
Why Women Hate Porn
Women’s self esteem and insecurities primarily cneter around theis bodies. Pretty is good, thin is good. Curvy in the right places is good. If you are not the perfect instagram model or porn star, then you are not worth as much. At least this is what society teaches women. Sad.
Women think that men only look at porn because they want the better body than theirs, and thus, they won’t compete and their husband won’t want them anymore.
BUT THIS IS NOT THE CASE!
Why Men Like It
The primary reason Men like Porn is not at all because the want the porn star’s body and become disappointed with their wife’s body. Not at all. I have asked hundreds of men this question.
The Primary reason men like it is the self-esteem boost. That’s right. Men live vicariously in the lives of the male protagonist in the porn video. He has a pretty girl wanting him. the prettier the girl or better her body is, the bigger the ego boost.
Yes, Men are naturally visual. We will always be drawn to any woman’s body. God made us this way. However, what we do with these initial impulses can become dishonoring to our wives and sinful.
